Questions
What is HUB3?
The Croatian standard for the 2D barcode (PDF417) printed on payment slips and invoices. Banking apps read it and fill in the recipient, IBAN, amount and reference, so nothing is typed by hand.
Does it work with every banking app?
It follows the published HUB3 format, which Croatian banking apps read. Apps from banks abroad do not read it: switch to “SEPA QR” for those, a standard payment QR that banking apps in many other EU countries read. Scan one code with your own app before printing a batch.
Why is the payer not asked for?
The payer block is optional. The banking app fills it in from the account that is paying, so one barcode on an invoice works for any payer.
What are model and reference number?
They tell the recipient which invoice a payment belongs to. Model HR99 means there is no reference number. Other models (HR00, HR01, HR67 and so on) come with a reference in the format the recipient's accounting uses: copy both from the invoice.
Why are the fields so short?
The format fixes each field's length: 25 characters for the recipient's name, 35 for the description, and so on. The letters č, ć, đ, š and ž take two places each, so the limits are checked as you type instead of cutting text off silently.
