WhatsApp link and QR
A link and a QR code that open a WhatsApp chat with your number, with the first message already typed.
- Runs in the browser. The number and message are never uploaded or stored.
- The number is put into the form WhatsApp expects, and the message is encoded so č, š, ž and line breaks survive.
- The QR code downloads as SVG for print or PNG for screens.
Questions
Where do I use the link?
Anywhere a web address fits: a website button, an Instagram or Google profile, an email signature, a message. On a phone it opens WhatsApp with the number and message ready; on a computer it opens WhatsApp Web or the desktop app.
Does the person need my number saved?
No. The link opens a chat with the number directly, which is the point: guests and customers can write without adding a contact first.
Is the number visible to everyone who scans the code?
Yes. The number is inside the link, so anyone who has the link or the code can read it. Use a number meant for customers.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. A wa.me link opens whichever WhatsApp account owns the number, including a Business account.
